Softball Game Preview: Valley Oaks CES Vanguards vs. Lakeview Charter Lions

Valley Oaks CES is 0-8 against Lakeview Charter since March of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Vanguards will challenge the Lions at 3:00 p.m. Valley Oaks CES has given up an average of 24.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley Oaks CES came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 25-2 to Triumph Charter. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Vanguards couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeview Charter). They blew past Valor Academy 37-9 on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lions with their most commanding win of the season.

Lakeview Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.5 runs over those games. As for Valley Oaks CES, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
