Softball Recap: ALA - Ironwood Wins Going Away Against Gilbert Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Seton Catholic, ALA - Ironwood was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Gilbert Christian Knights as they made off with a 19-8 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-6 on April 3rd.

Samantha Campano was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Donhardt, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, five runs, and one triple.

ALA - Ironwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilbert Christian only posted an OBP of .433.

ALA - Ironwood's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Gilbert Christian, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

As of now, neither ALA - Ironwood nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
