If the top plays of the week amaze, which they do, then the very best from a single month will only astonish.

That is the case for the very best high school football plays from October, which feature two spectacular one-hand catches, a 100-yard sprint to save a touchdown, a spontaneous under-hand heave, a brilliant zig-zag run and a pair of jaw-dropping runs from five-star athletes.

South Carolina-bound running back Marshawn Lloyd, of DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), and Clemson-bound quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, of St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.), live up to their recruit with simply dazzling touchdown jaunts.

Each week through the end of December, MaxPreps hosts Steve Montoya and Chris Stonebraker offer the must-see highlights from the high school gridirons. And at the end of each month, they present the best of the best.
