Baseball Recap: Salisbury Township Takes a Loss

Salisbury Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the Southern Lehigh Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-10 on April 9th.

Caleb Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Salisbury Township: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-5 otherwise.

Salisbury Township's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Southern Lehigh, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Salisbury Township is set to challenge their familiar foe Palisades at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Southern Lehigh will face off against rival Saucon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
