While DeKalb's win against Neuqua Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Barbs had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 10-9. DeKalb let Evan Johnson and Cole Latimer run wild. Johnson went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Latimer got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Latimer has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Duffy, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

DeKalb is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8-1 record this season. As for Neuqua Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: DeKalb beat Neuqua Valley by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.
