Volleyball Recap: Mount Miguel's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against Crawford on Monday, Mount Miguel came back down to earth. The Matadors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Castle Park Trojans on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Matadors in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Mount Miguel started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Michelle Ann Daileg and Ashley Sanchez, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Norbenna Aquisap and her 14 assists. Ann Daileg was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mount Miguel fell to 3-1. As for Castle Park, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Mount Miguel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Hoover on the 27th. As for Castle Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Bonita Vista on the 29th.
