Basketball Recap: St. John's Cadets vs. Fairfax Christian Cardinals
On Friday, the St. John's Cadets didn't have too much trouble with the Fairfax Christian Cardinals as they won 64-50. The Cadets pushed the score to 57-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals cut but never quite recovered from.
Fairfax Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Messiah Dixon and Frank Siaca Bey. Dixon went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points along with seven steals and six assists, while Siaca Bey went 8 of 13 to rack up 18 points and seven rebounds. That's the most steals Dixon has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Bennett, who had six points.
St. John's is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
