Baseball Recap: Munster Takes a Loss

Munster's last matchup with Valparaiso could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Mustangs lost 13-5 to the Vikings. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Donovan Craig was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Nate Southwell was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Munster and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Valparaiso, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Munster is taking a road trip to challenge Highland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valparaiso, they will host Crown Point at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
