Basketball Recap: Purdy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Purdy was feeling good fresh off their 75-42 takedown of Wheaton last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Purdy Eagles took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Eye Bulldogs on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 57-45 defeat on February 7th.

Despite the loss, Purdy still got an impressive performance from Carter Keeling, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 12 boards. Keeling's big performance that evening made it 26 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Mahurin, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Purdy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. This was only their second loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Purdy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-11. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.8 points. As for Blue Eye, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Purdy nor Blue Eye have any future games scheduled.
