Baseball Recap: Newark Norsemen vs. Coal City Coalers
Newark dropped their record down to 11-15 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 8-2 to the Coal City Coalers. If the Norsemen were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Coalers when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

On Coal City's side, Kellen Forsythe made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Forsythe a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Newark will head out on the road to square off against Plano at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Reapers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Coal City, they will welcome Manteno at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
