Softball Game Preview: Franklin County Seahawks vs. Liberty County Bulldogs

The Franklin County Seahawks will face off against the Liberty County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Franklin County 2.6, Liberty County 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Franklin County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Port St. Joe 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Seahawks in their matchups with the Tiger Sharks: they've now won three in a row.

Sarah Ham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Peyton Jones was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Lilah Millender was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Franklin County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port St. Joe struck out nine times.

Meanwhile, Liberty County waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Franklin County's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Liberty County, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
