Softball Game Preview: Antioch Bears vs. Cane Ridge Ravens

The Antioch Bears will take on the Cane Ridge Ravens in a tournament on Wednesday. Antioch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.

Antioch is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering McGavock just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders.

Antioch saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maliyah Perry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Kailan McClellan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Overton hit Cane Ridge with a 11-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ravens lost 14-4 to the Bobcats. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Antioch's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Cane Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Antioch hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .496. However, it's not like Cane Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .394. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
