Soccer Game Preview: Hudson vs. Mitchell

Hudson is 0-10 against Mitchell since November of 2014 but things could change on Monday. The Hudson Cobras will host the Mitchell Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hudson's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Angeline Academy of Innovation. The Cobras better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Diego Munoz, as he scored every single goal for his team.

Meanwhile, Mitchell had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Royal Knights with a sharp 6-0 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Royal Knights are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mitchell's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 50 goals over those eight contests. As for Hudson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-3-3 record this season.
