Basketball Game Preview: Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans vs. Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds

Somerset College Prep Academy is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to challenge the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. Somerset College Prep Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Lincoln Park Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Somerset College Prep Academy proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 34) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 29-28 win over John Carroll Catholic.

Among those leading the charge was Lenz Constant, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Michel, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Somerset College Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Park Academy played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 73-24 loss at the hands of Westwood. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-10.

Somerset College Prep Academy's record now sits at 2-0. As for Lincoln Park Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Somerset College Prep Academy strolled past Lincoln Park Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 46-27. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
