Basketball Recap: Compass Academy vs. Stanton Buffaloes
Compass Academy lost against the Stanton Buffaloes back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Compass Academy was the victim of a tough 49-24 loss at the hands of the Buffaloes. Compass Academy has struggled against the Buffaloes recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Compass Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Prieto, who scored four points along with two steals, and John Johnson who scored six points. It was the first time this season that Prieto grabbed two or more steals.
Compass Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Stanton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-18.
Compass Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Coyotes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tornillo is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Stanton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cranes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crane is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
