Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge came up into this matchup off a tough 20-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Wills Point Tigers by a score of 55-52 on Friday. If Blue Ridge was looking for revenge after losing 63-43 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wills Point's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jett Fletcher, who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sheldon Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards.

Blue Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Wills Point, their win bumped their record up to 4-15.

Blue Ridge will take on Leonard at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wills Point, they and Life Oak Cliff will face off at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
