Baseball Recap: Wayne County Takes a Loss

Wayne County came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Mize Bulldogs, falling 12-2. The War EaglesLady War Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

Wayne County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Ainsworth, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The loss was their first at home, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Mize, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Wayne County has already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against Quitman on the 21st. As for Mize, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Perry Central at 7:00 p.m.
