Football Game Preview: Goodpasture Christian Cougars vs. Battle Ground Academy Wildcats + How To Watch

Goodpasture Christian is 2-8 against Battle Ground Academy since August of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cougars will welcome the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Goodpasture Christian 15, Battle Ground Academy 12.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

It was a proper cat-fight when Goodpasture Christian challenged Grace Christian Academy on Friday. The Cougars enjoyed a cozy 24-7 victory over the Lions. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Cougars were the (much) better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Battle Ground Academy waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They really took it to the Knights for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-14 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.

Battle Ground Academy's win came from a few key players Goodpasture Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kaedyn Marable, who threw for 273 yards and four touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. He has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Maddox Porter, who picked up 124 receiving yards and three TDs.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Battle Ground Academy's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Gavino Villarreal with two.

Battle Ground Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Goodpasture Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Goodpasture Christian was dealt a bruising 49-7 loss at the hands of Battle Ground Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Marable, who threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. Now that the Cougars know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
