Softball Recap: Foundation Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Riverview Academy of Math and Science

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foundation Christian Academy). They were the clear victor by a 14-1 margin over the Riverview Academy of Math and Science Barracudas on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.

Raeghan Ramsey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Foundation Christian Academy let Raegan Goble and Cadence Cape run wild. Goble went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Cape went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Cape has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makayla Howard, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Foundation Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Foundation Christian Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Riverview Academy of Math and Science, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foundation Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Seffner Christian at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th. Seffner Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. Riverview Academy of Math and Science will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Bradenton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on March 31st.
