Baseball Game Preview: Octorara Area Braves vs. J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado

The Octorara Area Braves will head out to square off against the J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Octorara Area will be strutting in after a victory while J.P. McCaskey will be coming in after a defeat.

Octorara Area gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Hamburg with a sharp 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their two-run performance the match before.

Aidan Marsh was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Remphrey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Octorara Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, J.P. McCaskey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Hamburg.

J.P. McCaskey now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Octorara Area, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Octorara Area skirted past J.P. McCaskey 3-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Octorara Area since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
