Preview: St. Bonaventure Seraphs vs. St. Augustine Saints
The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will head out on the road to face off against the St. Augustine Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with St. Bonaventure sitting on four straight victories and St. Augustine on six.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Bonaventure had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They skirted past the Bears 24-21. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but St. Bonaventure was the better team in the second half.
Among those leading the charge was Koen Glover, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Bonaventure's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Matt Perez and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, St. Augustine got themselves on the board against Mission Hills on Friday, but Mission Hills never followed suit. They came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 13-0.
St. Augustine found their leader in underclassman Honor Faalave-johnson, who rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Bonaventure's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.4 points per game. As for St. Augustine, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
