Soccer Game Preview: Southwest vs. Angleton

The Southwest Dragons will take on the Angleton Wildcats on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Southwest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Glenn a 3-0 shutout. Southwest might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by three goals or more this season.

Alfredo Plascencia and Caleb Barajas scored all three of Southwest's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 44 goals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Angleton duked it out with A&M Consolidated on Tuesday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 2-0. The win was all the more spectacular given Angleton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while A&M Consolidated are ranked 85th).

Angleton's victory bumped their record up to 15-3-5. As for Southwest, their win bumped their record up to 24-1.
