Basketball Recap: Gradin Swoveland's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jay County over Richmond

Jay County's game on Saturday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richmond Red Devils. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now lost three in a row.

Jay County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gradin Swoveland, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Those 11 boards gave Swoveland a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Phillips, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Jay County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Jay County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-40 loss against Woodlan on the 6th. As for Richmond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-33 defeat against Springboro on the 6th.
