Baseball Recap: New Castle Takes a Loss

New Castle fell victim to Mt. Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Marauders, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

New Castle saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Hancock, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

New Castle has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Mt. Vernon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

While New Castle had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
