Softball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Mary's Knights.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for St. Mary's, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Gilbert will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Desert Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on the 24th. As for St. Mary's, they have already played their next matchup, a 12-8 win against Mingus on the 14th.
