Baseball Game Preview: Coahoma Bulldogs vs. Compass Academy

The Coahoma Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against Compass Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Coahoma lost 9-3 to Denver City on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bryce Davis and Jordan Gonzales did some serious damage despite the final result: Davis scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Gonzales went 1-for-2 with one home run. Davis has become a key player for Coahoma: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Wyatt Oden also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Compass Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Stanton 10-9. Ten seems to be a good number for Compass Academy as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

JACKSON CLARK was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was KAISON BIVINS, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Compass Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Compass Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Coahoma's loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
