Baseball Recap: West Park Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

West Park had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cordova Lancers a 17-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-1 win on April 11th.

Keagan Price looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Mason Zobel was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Jesse Palmer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

West Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cordova only posted a batting average of .231.

West Park pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cordova, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13-1.
