Softball Recap: West Orange-Stark Has No Trouble Against Port Arthur Memorial

After only one run in their last match, West Orange-Stark made sure to put some runs up on the board against Port Arthur Memorial on Thursday. The West Orange-Stark Mustangs were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over the Port Arthur Memorial Titans. Considering the Mustangs have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyla Blagburn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She also put up a double, which washer first of the season.

In other batting news, West Orange-Stark got a big performance out of Alexia Guyton, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. KK Bell was another key player, getting no hits from her three at bats.

West Orange-Stark's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Port Arthur Memorial, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

West Orange-Stark has already played their next contest, a 3-3 draw against East Chambers on the 20th. As for Port Arthur Memorial, they will square off against Sterling at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
