Basketball Recap: Rainier Comes Up Short

Rainier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 58-42 to the Yamhill-Carlton Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Columbians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked 26th).

Rainier's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Yamhill-Carlton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Rainier wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 43-26 loss against Neah-Kah-Nie on the 22nd. Yamhill-Carlton has also already played their next game, a 59-50 defeat against Corbett on the 22nd.
