Football Recap: Flanagan's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against Fort Lauderdale last Friday, Flanagan came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 20-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Broward Bobcats on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Bobcats are ranked 86th).

Chance Humphrey threw for 192 yards and one TD. Santana Carlos was his top target, picking up 85 receiving yards and one score.

West Broward's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandin Mincy led the charge by throwing for 146 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 44 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Flanagan fell to 3-1. As for West Broward, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Flanagan will challenge Miami Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Broward, they will square off against Everglades at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will be up against the Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
