Volleyball Recap: St. Luke's Episcopal Falls Despite Big Games from Amelia Smith and Emma Kate Frazier

St. Luke's Episcopal was the 3-2 winner over Faith Academy when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Emma Kate Frazier and Amelia Smith certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Frazier had 15 digs and two assists, while Smith had nine digs, seven kills, and one block. Smith is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 78 games she's played dating back to last season.

Faith Academy found their leader in sophomore Kyleigh Grosz, who had 13 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Grosz is now averaging an impressive 10 digs per game.

St. Luke's Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Faith Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-8.

St. Luke's Episcopal didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against UMS-Wright Prep on the 4th. As for Faith Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Bowling Green on the 4th.
