Desert Edge has won nine straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Cienega has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Scorpions will welcome the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Desert Edge will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Desert Edge is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Millennium 66-27 last Friday. Considering the Scorpions have won seven games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Desert Edge proved: they limited Millennium to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Ramari Hodge for the heroic effort on defense: he. Desert Edge's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.84 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 8.57 on average over their last five games.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Desert Edge, racking up 18 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Camren Hamiel, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cienega had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down the Vikings 49-35.

Desert Edge better keep an eye on Julian Hainley. He was instrumental in Cienega's win, throwing for 424 yards and four TDs while picking up 17.0 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 50 yards and three scores. Hainley has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Cienega's leading receiver Jaden Rodgers was Hainley's top target yet again, picking up 189 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cienega didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dylan Robinson and Riley Lohmueller.

Cienega's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Desert Edge, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.

Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Roskopf and Hainley. Roskopf just won't slow down this season and has thrown 35 touchdowns while averaging 263.9 passing yards per game. Hainley has been a dominant force too and has thrown 31 touchdowns while averaging 233.4 passing yards per game.
