Baseball Recap: West Perry Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Perry proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Shippensburg Greyhounds 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 back in March.

The victory was the third in a row for West Perry, bringing their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Shippensburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-8-1 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Perry is set to square off against their familiar foe James Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.8, the Rockets 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Shippensburg will challenge rival Big Spring at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
