Baseball Recap: Pisgah Comes Up Short

If Pisgah was riding high fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Ider last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Geraldine Bulldogs on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Cutter Mays made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Pisgah's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't).

Pisgah's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Geraldine, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-14 record this season.
