Preview: Gilbert Yellowjackets vs. Wamogo Regional Warriors
Gilbert is 0-10 against Wamogo Regional since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gilbert Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the Wamogo Regional Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gilbert has struggled recently with 11 defeats in a row, while Wamogo Regional will arrive with four straight wins.
Gilbert suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 last Friday. Their tough 66-42 loss to Terryville might stick with them for a while.
Meanwhile, Wamogo Regional beat Nonnewaug 67-54 on Friday.
Wamogo Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Delello, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Quinn Coffey, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Gilbert's loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for Wamogo Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Gilbert took a serious blow against Wamogo Regional in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 70-20. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wamogo Regional's Tom Smart, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds.
