Basketball Game Preview: Coral Gables Cavaliers vs. North Miami Beach Chargers

The Coral Gables Cavaliers will square off against the North Miami Beach Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coral Gables is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Coral Gables is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 8, 2024 on Saturday. 2025 welcomed they with a 74-51 loss courtesy of Westminster Christian. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Warriors are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, North Miami Beach came up short against Plantation last Saturday and fell 63-50. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coral Gables will have to contain Edgar Inoamercedes as he made an impact in North Miami Beach's last game. He dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. Inoamercedes is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Guersley Jean, who posted eight points.

North Miami Beach's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Coral Gables, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coral Gables was able to grind out a solid win over North Miami Beach in their previous meeting back in January of 2018, winning 69-56. Will Coral Gables repeat their success, or does North Miami Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
