Softball Recap: Bryant Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Bryant had won four straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 20-1 to make it five. They skirted past the Vilonia Eagles 4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2017.

As for Vilonia, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 9, 2024.

For Vilonia's part, Kinley Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Brown.

On the hitting side, Emma Sowell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season.

Bryant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vilonia, they will square off against Mountain Home at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
