Football Game Preview: Perry Maroons vs. Chisholm Longhorns

The Perry Maroons will take on the Chisholm Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Perry was fully in charge, breezing past Crooked Oak 35-8. With the Maroons ahead 28-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Andrew Kukuk had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jaxon Miner was another key player, rushing for 101 yards on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Perry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chisholm, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took down Millwood 42-25 on Thursday.

The victory got Chisholm back to even at 4-4. As for Perry, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
