Recap: Stroudsburg Mountaineers vs. East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves
The third road game was the charm for the Stroudsburg Mountaineers, as they earned their first road win of the season. They managed a 47-42 win over East Stroudsburg North on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Stroudsburg's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while East Stroudsburg North is ranked 232nd).
Despite the loss, East Stroudsburg North had strong showings from Nate Wilder, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Bernard Bowen III, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Bryceson Dobie, who scored seven points along with three blocks.
Stroudsburg's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for East Stroudsburg North, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
Stroudsburg will be home for the holidays to greet Honesdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Stroudsburg North, they will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
