Baseball Preview: Hoover Vikings vs. Jackson Polar Bears
Hoover and Jackson are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hoover Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Jackson Polar Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoover will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Hoover will head into Monday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 15) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Kenston 7-5.
Evan Fuller looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Nathan Spangler was excellent, going 1-for-1 with three RBI and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Angione, who scored a run while getting on base in all two of his plate appearances.
