Basketball Recap: Mentor Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Mentor was riding high fresh off their 66-28 takedown of Shaker Heights last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mentor Cardinals came up short against the Strongsville Mustangs on Tuesday, falling 66-44. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Mustangs are ranked second).

Mentor's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Strongsville, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mentor Cardinals challenge the Cleveland Heights Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Strongsville has already played their next contest (against Ellet), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
