Marathon waltzed into their game on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rhinelander Hodags a 12-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Red Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marathon pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Rhinelander, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Marathon will take on Columbus Catholic at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Red Raiders will need to watch out since the Dons have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. Rhinelander does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
