Preview: Foard Tigers vs. Statesville Greyhounds
Foard is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Greyhounds a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Foard Tigers will take on the Statesville Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Foard was able to grind out a solid victory over the Warriors, taking the game 63-54.
Foard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Bess, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Graham Orndoff, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Even though Statesville has not done well against the Mustangs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Statesville came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 71-64.
Foard's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for Statesville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
