Softball Recap: Clearfield Finds Playoff Glory Versus Olympus

Clearfield extended their postseason success on Friday against Olympus. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Falcons have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jenna Lloyd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Lloyd was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Clearfield got a massive performance out of Addyson Haddock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI Haddock has posted since back in April. Lyla Leonhardt was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three runs.

Clearfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympus only posted an OBP of .250.

Clearfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Olympus, they moved to 20-3 with that defeat, which also ended their 15-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Titans beat Clearfield by a score of 2-1 later that day.
