Recap: Jacksboro Tigers vs. Gunter Tigers
The Jacksboro Tigers and the Gunter Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Jacksboro Tigers had to settle for second. They were the victim of a tough 55-33 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Jacksboro's loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.
Jacksboro's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lando Belcher, who threw for 397 yards and four touchdowns. Belcher was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Kaleem Howard was another key contributor, picking up 151 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Walker Overman was on fire for Gunter: he rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.
Jacksboro's loss dropped their record down to 13-1. As for Gunter, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Jacksboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gunter will be playing in front of their home fans against Canadian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Canadian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
