Softball Recap: Lakeside Has No Trouble Against Mansfield

While Lakeside put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Mansfield. The Warriors put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 18-0 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

Lakeside let Raleah Harris and McKenna Chreene run wild. Harris scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Chreene scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Chreene has posted over her last eight contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Teal Austin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .852. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lakeside and bumps their season record up to 21-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Mansfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeside will host Minden at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mansfield, they will square off against Saline at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
