Football Recap: Centreville Falls to Forest Park in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Centreville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 56-47 to the Forest Park Bruins on Thursday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

When it comes to explaining why Centreville lost, don't look at Will Shields. Despite the final result, he threw for 359 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 64 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. 117 of Shields' passing yards were hauled in by Jourdan Simpson, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Centreville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Yorktown at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Forest Park, they will head out to take on Riverbend at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
