Basketball Recap: Jermiah Hargrove Key Part of Team Effort in Guardians Win

With a playoff win on the line, Wake Prep Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-57 win over the Vance Charter Knights. This was payback for the Guardians, who suffered a 78-40 loss the last time these two teams met.

Wake Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jermiah Hargrove, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 18 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Those 18 points gave Hargrove a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Bracey, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 17 points along with eight boards and six assists.

Wake Prep Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Vance Charter, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6.

Wake Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-53 loss against Voyager Academy on the 4th. Vance Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
