Baseball Recap: Sayre Redskins vs. Williamson Warriors
Sayre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 11-8 to the Williamson Warriors. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Shaine Strickland was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Strickland was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Nick Pellicano Jr. was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Sayre's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Williamson, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sayre will face off against Millville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Williamson, they will head out to square off against Cowanesque Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
