Basketball Game Preview: Eagle Mustangs vs. Pocatello Thunder

Having just played yesterday, the Eagle Mustangs will jump right back in to play the Pocatello Thunder at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Eagle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Middleton, who was ranked 15th at the time (Eagle was ranked third). Eagle took a 56-37 bruising from Middleton on Friday. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins dating back to last season, Pocatello's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 65-52 to Westlake. The loss put an end to Pocatello's undefeated start to the season.

Eagle's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Pocatello, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.
